A native Shetlander, Brydon grew up on the beautiful island of Fetlar. A pride and passion for his homeland has led to a lifetime spent gaining an intimate knowledge of the islands and their wildlife.

Since childhood his passion and fascination with wildlife, fuelled by days out in the field with legendary naturalist, the late Bobby Tulloch,  have naturally progressed, and in 2007 became something of a labour of love when he set up wildlife tour company ‘Shetland Nature’ . Although a dedicated and experienced birder, Brydon’s underlying passion is Otters. A relative latecomer to photography Brydon started using his work primarily to promote and advertise the tours and holidays he runs through ‘Shetland Nature’. With a lifetime of experience of Shetland’s natural environment, Brydon was ideally placed to utilise his local knowledge and field craft to try to capture and communicate his passion through photography.

Brydon’s wildlife photography is published alongside his monthly wildlife column in a local magazine, online news site and Shetland tourism websites. His work also appears in monthly Birding journals and books on the Shetland Islands, most recently in Simon Kings ‘Shetland Diaries’, for which he played a very active role throughout.
