A warm and muggy evening

Tuesday, 20 July 2010 08:14

Keith Kirk badger photographyIt was a rather nice warm muggy evening so I thought I would go out onto the hill and have a look for foxes. No hide, just lie in wait in some gorse bushes. A bit too warm for the full Stealth Gear suit so a was only using the trousers and a fleece top.

No foxes showed up, but a badger put in an appearance.

Although the ground was damp, no wet bum thanks to the grey protective seating area, the added bonus is it also allows you to easily slide about without standing up, as I had to move down hill slightly. And as for the built in knee pads, well what can I say, no thorns, and no biting my tongue when kneeling on rough ground. Keeping quiet that close to badgers is important.

The badger came so close at one point I could not focus. Oh, if I had only taken the jacket with an extra wide angle lens in the pocket, I suppose there’s alway a next time.
